SHE WROTE: PR AM

So I've spent the entire morning on PR which included doing the PRO bootcamp stuff on collaboration (which we are thinking of posting here, too, just not sure it belongs, although it is stuff we're doing this year so it should probably be here, too, right?), doing a rush order for a Moot stamp for the booksigning (I'll be adding eyelashes and lipstick, Bob will be rolling his eyes), and writing the newsletter announcing that Don't Look Down is coming out on April 4th! So you should buy it! Please! There is nothing in this newsletter that you all don't already know, so you're not missing anything, but if you want to get one when we send it out this weekend, go to http://www.crusiemayer.com/mailing.htm and sign up. We don't sell the lists and that'll probably be the only newsletter you get from us until Agnes comes out with DLD in paperback. Bob and I each have newsletter lists you can go sign up for, too, if you're really hipped on getting newsletters.

This is the Moot stamp:

That was my morning. Well, that and a bunch of e-mails from Bob, calling himself Master Po. As our agent Meg said, "Well, it's better than Master Bates." Meg is the perfect agent for us. And then I read Bob's blog post and thought, "This is good. We have the JCF Cherries, the JCW Cherries, the Maui Cherries, and now the Blog Cherries." I remember the first time I told Bob about the Cherries. He said, "YOU have a fan list called the CHERRIES?" Then he laughed. I don't know why, it's been so long since I've had a real life, I'm practically a virgin again anyway. She said bitterly.

Yes, this is the glamorous life of the New York Times Bestselling author. Eat your hearts out in envy.

That's why I want a Cherry tattoo. Not only because j'adore your books, but because, at 25, I'm still a virgin (loooong story, not a nun or a troll, and taking applications!). I think a Cherry is a pretty significant part of my life...

Okay, I'll say it. The stamp of Moot is a hoot.

I will buy the book next week, promise. So will everyone one reading the blog. We'll tell a friend who will tell a friend who will tell a friend and so on and so forth.

All the cherry talk, after a late lunch without chocolate, makes me say: forget the camo m&m's, just bring along chocolate covered cherries. What could be better?

Moot is good, but some definite accessorizing is needed. Can't wait for the tour and DLD!

I love the stamp. Yeah, dress Moot up, make her really girlie and sexy just to tick Bob off. How about a little skirt? Kind of tutu like. (grin)
You know a lady in my chapter just lost 35 llbs and came to our last meeting looking wonderful. When I commented she said, "It's the shoes." I looked down and her sandals had these flowers falling off them. They were adorable.
Then she said, "I'm such a huge Crusie fan and I bought them because I'd just read Bet Me again and wanted to make a statement, so I thought yeah, shoes."
So, see how your books change lives? (grin)

How about a tattoo of Moot, complete with a little umbrella, feather boa and cherry earrings?

PR Bootcamp? Of course you should post the details on the blog! If you and Bob write about it (present it) we want to see it here.

We love living vicariously through you guys - and the others on this site.

I'm so jealous of you all that get to see J & B in person. Closest I can get is read the blog amd buy my book next week.

I feel your pain, Marcia. I won't be able to see them on the PR tour either and I have the further annoyance of having to wait for my copy of DLD to be shipped to me in the UK.

Love the Moot Stamp. You should take it to the PR boot camp. Then it would be the Moot Stamp Boot Camp. Its 5 oclock and I promise I'm leaving now before I take that any further.

Anyhow ... OF COURSE WE'RE BUYING THE BOOK! Sheesh. I already called the local Borders to make sure it was going to be there Tues. They're not always real dependable for some reason. But she said yes. So I'm buying it at approx. noon on Tuesday, April 4. And I promise to make a lot of noise and get a lot of people who know nothing about cherries curious about this book so that they just HAVE TO BUY IT. Promise.

DLD comes out the day after my birthday. March and April are big birthday months for people I care about. So guess what everyone is getting? And I'm bringing them all to the New England conference for you both to sign. All those birthday books - that will be me. I've been looking for a cherry camo scarf for Moot but so far, no luck.

I'm not sure what it says out the state of our lives- but I think we are eatting our hearts out. You've got it all a great book coming out, a devoted flock of cherries and multiple options to use your sharpie on Bob.

Did SMP do the thing where they pay to have bookstores not put the book out until April 4th? Or is it possible that DLD may appear sooner than that in the bookstore nearest me, depending on shipping?

Jenny, I've got just the thing for you. Order some now, and take it on the tour with you.

Just to make sure I get a copy of DLD as quickly as possible, I have ordered a copy from Amazon and am first in the queue at my local library for one of their copies. And Marcia, I have you beat at 31 (I blame it on being the minister's daughter in high school and then not drinking while in college). Love the Moot stamp.

Yeah, I know the feeling of practically being a virgin again. I set a deadline for myself though and it better happen real soon or I may go blind.

Inkgrrl has the right idea - temporary Moot tattoos with cherries on them.

I'm also one of the miserable souls who won't get to see the B&J show. It's doubly poignant, since you were here in SF and, of course, that weekend was a total loss with bad family things. Sigh.

One of these days I'll get to see you guys. Maybe for Agnes.
