HE WROTE: Book Tour Day Two: Still Alive

We made it back from Joisy sill alive although our driver seemed to have a penchant for pulling in front of large trucks after waiting until they were very close.

We were in a very well run Barnes and Noble in Springfield where the most efficient manager Debi was very wonderful to us and had tons of books for us to sign. And there were quite a few people including a contingent that drove all the way from Pennsylvania. I once more manned the very difficult Moot stamp which requires skill and dexterity. Jenny complained of pain in her thumb but it's not her signing hand so I told her to suck ip up and there is no pain in book signings. Our escort was Kim who works with our editor Jen. Kim was keeping a close eye on me and during one of our stock signing caught one book I missed signing and beat me almost senseless. Our publisher has no sense of humor about these things. Ah the glorious life of an author.

Jenny and I are driving to Boston tomorrow but we have to give Kim our route so she can plan stops at bookstores all along the route to do stock signings. We anticipate arriving in Natick around 2 am on Thursday. Slave drivers I tell you.

So far things seem to going well. Kim critiqued us in the car going back. I have to speak more. Jenny less. Ya think? I must enunciate more clearly and speak louder. I have to spell Jenny's name correctly. Oh wait. That's Jenny on the blog. It's all blurring together. I have to feed Hannah. Wait, that's Debbie at home. Too many women. Too many demands.

Ok, I joke too much. Everyone's been great. The bookstores. St. Martins. Well, the driver tonight was a little dangerous.

And you all must be doing something right because the book seems to be selling like hot cakes. Thank you. We hope you enjoy reading it as much as we enjoyed writing it. Except for those times Jenny wanted to beat me senseless with her keyboard.

"Jenny on the blog" SNORT! That's two things on this blog (one comment, one post) that have made me laugh today. At work, when someone makes me laugh, I give out gold stars. Today: one star to Bob, one star to Talpianna for the "in the darkness there is...Bob" etc.

I believe you can turn in your stars for Moot points, but I'm not sure what the exchange rate is.

On pg. 301. Must get back to book now.

My God, do you ever sleep? You two crack me up...

And hey, pardon me while I wait to get a signed copy of the book when you hit Chicago-area. :-)

My copy arrived today from Amazon, sans Moot stamp. Oh well. You can't have everything.

Since earlier this evening, DLD has gone from #53 to #40 on Amazon.com. Yesterday it was 469. Keep up the good work, Cherry Bombers!
I have some birthdays coming up so I am going to order at least a book a day for this week.
And some of Bob's, too. The DH is
quite the reader also. Then we can switch!

You have to admire a man who keeps blogging whilst on book tour. Oh all right, maybe you don't (you over there) but I do.
Mind you, I haven't actually /seen/ this putative so-called book yet, but I'm willing to suspend my disbelief for a day longer...
Go Bawbennie!

Okay, this has got to stop. I sat up till midnight waiting to hear how the signing went tonight. I have crossed over from fan into lunatic. What am I thinking; that somehow you two need my telepathic help on this book tour when the entire resources of SMP are at your disposal?! Insane I tell you!

I'm with you, Cherry bombshell. I seem to be checking this blog to find out how the tour is going even more tham I check the Yahoo Cherry site these days (and that's a LOT). I've also taken to checking amazon every few hours, as it's been fun watching it rise each time.
Of course, you Bob, and you Jenny, are just the best. Be careful of those storms, get some sleep, and enjoy your Cherry Bombs at the next signing.
And Bob, try to keep your women straight out there. It's Moot that you're stamping, Hannah and Debbie at home, and Jenny that you need to stay to the left of right now, k?

Okay, now I'm getting into the madness... just checked Amazon and The DaVinci Code hardcover is at #39, DLD is at #41. You're in stellar company, kids. Rock on.

Pulling out in front of big trucks seems to be a Joisey past time. At least that was my impression during a recent two week stay there. Glad you survived.

Just realized that I can subvert someone in Boston to the cause, too...Cherry Bombs away!

I just finished the book- now I can't sleep because I am so excited at how GREAT it was! I am going to read it again tomorrow. And see if I can find Wonder Woman reruns on TV land!. Cherry bombshell-you are so right....I feel like a mother hen, checking in on the chicks all hours of the day and night.
Yippee for DLD!

You know, this tour has been an escalating series of shocking revelations about Our Fearless Leaders.

First we learn that Bob has an in-house Significant Other.

Then we learn that Moot has borne (or hatched) offspring out of wedlock.

What's left for Jenny to reveal? Is she living in sin with an extraterrestrial? Holding Judge Crater prisoner in her basement? A closet Republican?

Enquiring minds want to know!

Just finished the book and it was GREAT!

Very proud to be a cherry bomb... and congrats on moving up the best sellers list. You were #11 the last time I checked.

Thank god you two are sticking to that old plan of "trying to post to the blog once a week." It's hard enough waiting overnight for an update! :)

Congrats on climbing the bestseller lists!

Gloom and doom. Amazon.co.uk has now announced 1-3 weeks for delivery of DLD. Not only am I a non-person (no Crusie-Mayer email!) and I don't have the Book. What next?

Well, duh. Coulda told you that. Congrats Bob and Jenny on the great sales. And on getting outa Joisey alive.

Phew! Glad you made it back from Joisey.

I went there once by accident. I got in the wrong lane while driving outta downtown Philly. I HAD to go over the bridge into NJ.

I got into NJ for free, but had to pay TOLL to get out when I finally made my way back across the bridge.

Sorry to laugh Marcia in OK, but that was funny.

Ok course, I actually went once on purpose.

I get to laugh at this image! Bob didn't tell me not to think about it that way...
Somehow, Jenny sucking her thumb just doesn't compute, though.
Maybe that's why Bob didn't bother?
(Really, I actually do love both of your books... I even bought, new, in HARDCOVER, DLD, which I NEVER NEVER NEVER do. So don't take me too seriously.)
